Yale A2K Conference

I was looking around a bit for some random resources and I landed on a topic called Access to Knowledge Conference. This is, in fact, a research project which took off in April 2006. The 2007 Version of the Conference is already on the roll and this conference seems really promising.

The objectives of this Conference are outlined at the Yale Official Site. To give you a summary, here is a small quote from the Yale Home Page:

The first goal of the Yale A2K Initiative is to come up with a new analytic framework for analysing the possibly distortive effects of public policies relying exclusively on intellectual property rights. Beyond this aim, the A2K initiative seeks to support the adoption and development of alternative ways to foster greater access to knowledge in the digitally connected environment

Some of the Access to Knowledge issues being researched under this Conference includes subjects like Biotech, Medical Genomics, Compulsory licenses for copyrighted works, Software and ICTs, etc. You can read about all this issues here. The whole summary of the April 2006 Conference is reflected in the Yale A2K Wiki Main Page.

I feel such great projects should be initiated quite often and I would recommend you to have a look at the various conference view points. I am sure you love to know the concept behind the Access To Knowledge Conference.
