Placement Packages 2007
It’s campus placement time in most of the Engineering Colleges around the country and students are getting quite excited already. What is most exciting about this year’s campus placement episode is the hike in the package offered by most of the major recruiters. Many companies like TCS, Wipro and Infosys has come with a 3Lacs plus packages.
But why an increase in the packages? It seems like the Indian software giants are a bit worried by the fact that many big MNCs like HP, IMB and Google, etc. are increasing their packages, especially for the freshers. There seem to be a competition prevailing between major campus recruiters.
Anyway, it’s a good sign that the Indian Software giants are increasing their offer packages as packages below 3 Lacs seem too for a metro life. Most of my internet savvy friends earn more than 3 lacs in average from freelancing alone, working just about 2-3 hours a day. So, let’s hope the packages will go up further and more and more engineers become interested in Indian companies.
